Welcome to the Saltdean Jazz Band's website

Thank you for popping by to find out more about our band. We are always looking for new players and opportunities to get involved with community events in and around Sussex - and beyond.

If you are seeking to play with some friendly and welcoming amateur musicians - or maybe want some live music for an event - please  get in touch if interested.

Community Band

The Saltdean Jazz Band aims to be a community band, involving people from around Sussex.

Whether you are an accomplished player, beginner or rusty from not having played for a while - we will welcome you to our friendly and inclusive group.

Led by Andre Emond, a highly experienced musician and musical director, we play a range of styles - not always jazz! - and aim to find music to suit all our members.

Gigs and Concerts

We rehearse once a week and aim to play a number of different gigs or concerts throughout the year.

We have regular gigs at the Whitecliffs Cafe on Saltdean's beachfront and The Brunswick, Hove. Check our Facebook for further details.

About Us

Saltdean Jazz Band started two weeks before the first lockdown in 2020 and has continued to welcome musicians from across Sussex - and beyond - to take part in regular rehearsals.
The aim is to have a welcoming environment for musicians of all kinds, regardless of the stage they are in their knowledge, to come along and enjoy playing music with others.
It doesn't matter if you are a bit rusty, haven't been playing long or are a virtuoso who likes to help others progress - there is plenty of friendly and helpful support.

Come and Join Us!

We meet

We rehearse Thursday evenings at St Martin's Church, Longridge Avenue in Saltdean from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

You are welcome to come along and see what you think of us before joining - or drop us an email to find out more.
